## Manage AI Credits

In Blotato, AI credits are consumed when you generate AI images and AI videos. Credits are NOT used for scheduling posts, publishing posts, or AI voiceovers.

Exporting or downloading an existing video does not use generation credits. Before generation, compare your balance with the cost of the entire job, not 1 scene. A positive balance still fails the check when the total is higher. See [Insufficient credits with credits remaining](/web-app-features/videos/faqs.md#why-do-i-get-an-insufficient-credits-error-when-i-still-have-credits).

Open [Settings > Billing](https://my.blotato.com/settings/billing) and find AI Credits and Usage. This section shows your remaining credits and the credit-purchase control. Follow [Billing & Credits](/settings/billing-and-credits.md) to purchase credits and verify the balance after checkout.

Your monthly credits will refresh each month, according to your subscription plan.

At any time, purchase additional AI credits in [Settings > Billing](https://my.blotato.com/settings/billing). The API lets developers check the balance and buy credits, and MCP checks the balance -- see the [Credits API](/rest-api-reference/credits.md).

## How Many Videos Per Month?

There is no limit on the number of videos you can create each month.

There is no limit on video duration.

The number of videos you can create depends on how many credits you have, which AI models you use, and your video duration.

To make the **cheapest videos**, select use the text-to-image model **flux-schnell** which costs 1 credit.

Specific example:

**30 second video using the cheapest settings only costs 7 credits, so the Starter plan with 1250 credits allows you to make 178 30-second videos.**

## How Do I Estimate the Cost or Credits Per Video?

To see how many credits a generation will cost, click a GREEN clip (image) or PURPLE clip (video) and you'll see the credit cost right above the "Regenerate" button. It is highlighted in BLUE in the screenshot below:

## Do You Get Charged For Credits While Encountering An Error?

No, credits are only deducted upon a successful image or video generation.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.blotato.com/web-app-features/videos/ai-video-credits.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
