# AI Videos

Generate visuals through website templates or the REST API, then verify the output before publishing.

Blotato supports template-based images, carousels, slideshows, and videos. Use the workflow for the surface you are operating.

## Using Blotato Web App

1. Open Videos from either mode, then select [Create New Video](https://my.blotato.com/videos/new).
2. Select a template for the requested output. For video with narration, select "AI Video with AI Voice". For a carousel or slideshow, select "Instagram Carousel Slideshow".
3. Enter your prompt.
4. For manual control, open "Need more customization? Click to see advanced options".
5. Click "Generate Video".
6. Review the generated visual before publishing.

The in-app [AI Agent](https://my.blotato.com/agent) creates text and images. For videos, carousels, and slideshows, use the template screen above. This restriction applies to the in-app AI Agent, not to visual generation through the REST API.

For narration, follow [Make your first AI video](/web-app-features/videos/make-your-first-ai-video.md). Use [the generation workflow](/web-app-features/videos/recommended-workflow.md) to review inputs and credit use. For an existing visual, follow [Edit, mute, and export](/web-app-features/videos/edit-and-export.md).

## Using Blotato MCP

Visual generation through MCP is not supported at this time. Claude Code and other tools that send HTTP requests can use the REST [Create Visual](/rest-api-reference/create-video.md) endpoint instead.

## Using Blotato API (n8n / Make.com)

1. Select a template from the [template catalog](/rest-api-reference/visuals.md).
2. Read the selected template's current input schema.
3. Submit the generation request.
4. Save the returned visual ID.
5. Check the visual status until generation finishes or fails.
6. Review the returned media before starting a separate publishing operation.

Use the [create-and-publish visual workflow](/agent-workflows/agent-workflows/visuals.md) for REST paths, response fields, and polling intervals.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.blotato.com/web-app-features/videos.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
