# Analytics

Explain post-analytics initialization, pending data, plan checkpoints, and interface-specific platform coverage.

Blotato tracks engagement for your published posts to help you identify which topics, formats, and platforms perform best. Analytics are available on every paid plan.

The Blotato web app and REST API include Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest. LinkedIn analytics are not available.

## I just connected an account. When will analytics appear?

Scope: post-performance metrics, not imported posts or comments in Inbox.

1. Confirm the intended social account is connected.
2. Locate a post published through Blotato on a supported platform.
3. Compare the post's publication time with the first checkpoint for its plan.
4. Read the returned snapshot dates or the website's pending state.

Collection is scheduled from the post's publication time, not from opening the analytics page. “Analytics pending” means no metric history is available yet. It does not establish 0 engagement or an account-connection failure.

Connecting an account does not promise an analytics backfill of every historical native-platform post. Inbox imports and comment collection are separate from post-analytics initialization. For missing data after the expected checkpoint, give support the post ID, platform, publication time, plan, and observed state.

Checkpoint times are targets, not a live-refresh guarantee. Queue timing, platform responses, and retries affect when a snapshot appears. Reading analytics does not force a refresh.

## Using the Blotato Web App

1. Open [Analytics](https://my.blotato.com/analytics) from either Developer Platform or Content Studio.
2. Select 7 days, 30 days, or All time.
3. Review Posts published, Views, Comments, Likes, Publishing success rate, API requests, Failed posts, and Time saved.
4. Use Top posts and its ranking selector to compare posts.
5. Use Performance by platform and its metric selector to compare platforms.
6. Review Latest posts and the publishing-health sections for details.

![Analytics date-range controls, metrics, and Top posts selector](https://2374509648-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FevfU9S4Nh53PiGflQLah%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a2fbd1501ef9ba37486663c37c91b19295fea42d%2Fui-analytics-filters-2026-10.jpg?alt=media)

If a post remains empty after its expected checkpoint, use the [initialization checks](#i-just-connected-an-account-when-will-analytics-appear) and provide support its ID and publication time. An empty chart is not proof of a broken account connection or a reason to publish another copy.

Metrics refresh periodically after publication. The platform chart labels its values as cumulative since publish. Do not interpret them as engagement earned only during the selected window. For an individual post's publishing outcome, use [Posts > Published](https://my.blotato.com/posts?status=published).

Your plan sets both the depth of platform-specific metrics and how often each post updates:

* **Starter:** 4 updates per post, spread over 30 days (first at 1 day)
* **Creator:** 18 updates per post, spread over 30 days (first at 2 hours)
* **Agency:** 20 updates per post, spread over 90 days (first at 2 hours)

See the [Analytics Metrics Reference](/rest-api-reference/analytics/analytics-metrics.md) for what set of metrics each platform and plan supports, and the [collection schedule](/rest-api-reference/analytics.md#collection-schedule) for the full checkpoint list.

## Using ChatGPT, Claude, Hermes, or Another MCP Client

1. Complete the [Blotato MCP setup](/start-with-an-ai-agent/mcp/setup.md).
2. Start a new chat in your AI tool.
3. Ask:

   > Get my top performing posts from last week and remix them into fresh viral ideas.
4. Review the returned posts and ideas.
5. Ask the AI tool to turn your selected ideas into drafts or scheduled posts.

The `blotato_list_top_posts` MCP tool currently ranks posts from Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky. Use the REST API for top-post rankings on TikTok, YouTube, or Pinterest.

See [Analytics API](/rest-api-reference/analytics.md) for endpoints, collection schedules, and response examples. See [Analytics Metrics](/rest-api-reference/analytics/analytics-metrics.md) for platform-specific metrics.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.blotato.com/web-app-features/analytics.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
