# Brand New Accounts

This guide applies to **all** social platforms — TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, and X. The 4-week timeline below is written around TikTok, but the same principle applies everywhere: a brand new account looks like a bot to every platform's safety system if you start posting heavily or connecting third-party tools right away.

You can't open an account and 5 minutes later start posting at scale.

You have to follow a warm-up process so the platform doesn't flag your account as a bot or shadowban you.

**Do NOT connect 3rd party apps, like Blotato, until your account is fully warmed up.** This applies to every social platform, not just TikTok.

**Follow this process to warm up your new account:**

1. **Search for content** that your target audience also watches, reads, or follows.
2. **Engage** by:
   * Liking
   * Commenting
   * Bookmarking or saving
   * Following relevant accounts
3. **Do this every day** for at least **1 hour a day** for **4 weeks** on TikTok, or **1-2 weeks** on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, and X. Pinterest needs **2 weeks** of manual posting (1 pin/day, ramping to 3/day) before connecting.

It is important to maintain consistency and not take a day off during the warm-up period.

If done properly, you will start seeing relevant content from your niche on your "For You", "Explore", or feed surface.

**Continuous warm-up:**

Continue warming up your account even after the initial warm-up period.

Continue watching, reading, or scrolling content that your target audience would consume and engaging with it.

Do this for **10 minutes every day** before and after posting until each post consistently performs (>200 views on TikTok, similar floor on other platforms).

**Per-platform notes:**

* **TikTok:** 4 weeks minimum warm-up. After that, max 3 posts/day via 3rd party.
* **Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, X:** 1-2 weeks of manual activity (logging in, scrolling, posting 1 piece per day, engaging) before connecting Blotato.
* **Pinterest:** 2 weeks of manual pinning (1 pin/day, ramping to 3/day). Once your Pinterest has 100+ monthly views, reconnect to Blotato and you'll be automatically verified.
